What started as a series of food shows created by three friends sick of being burned by crowdsourced reviews and paid-for recommendations has evolved into a mediatech startup reimagining the dining out experience for everyone at the table – Diners, Chefs and Venues.
Hood Food Guide partners with chefs & restaurateurs in every Australian neighbourhood to provide trustworthy dining recommendations via our mobile-first platform. As an experienced production company, we then capture each venue in video for better decision making.
Diners get better, more trustworthy recommendations in video, removing the need to consult numerous apps, platforms and friends when hungry.
Leveraging years of hard work, Chefs improve current and create new revenue-making opportunities by providing immense value to Diners.
Venues improve revenues in less time by receiving premium testimonials and video.
After our three shows, 40 neighbourhoods, 100+ chefs and 700+ venues, the app will be launched in mid-2018 focusing on Australia’s capital cities with more original vertical content and features planned.
From January 2018, HOOD FOOD GUIDE is viewable on all domestic and international Virgin Australia flights.

No, we’re not foodies. We’re the generation that dines out more than we should, we’re the friend you text for last minute venue ideas, we’ve worked in hospitality for years and we’re addicted to solving the “Where should we eat?” question much better than it has been.
